The ABCs of Crowdsourcing
If you’re interested in learning more about online crowdsourcing, I recommend watching the following three-minute video:
In the clip, Jeff describes crowdsourcing as “Wikipedia, with everything.” He says crowd sourcing changes business dramatically, as companies ask for meaningful participation in projects from the public, and can even approach customers as possible partners. Social media is described as the “building block” of crowdsourcing, where people come together and “self organize into productive units”. Jeff then explains how crowdsourcing developed organically at the end of the video.
How do you think crowdsourcing will change the face of business in the next five to ten years?
Jeff Howe is a contributing editor at Wired Magazine and operates a blog about crowdsourcing. You can follow him on Twitter @Crowdsourcing.
