Boston Bruins - Sports Advertising

NHL playoffs are right around the corner, so I thought it would be fitting to share my favourite ad campaign from last season. I’m no Boston fan, but I can appreciate the thought that went into these ads. Ad agency Mullen is the creative genius that produced them, and I liked what their website said about social influences on marketing: “Yes, the consumer is in control, and, yes, we all have to master the art of listening to conversations on Twitter and other social communities, but we also want to inspire, build and mobilize those communities. We do that with services that combine blogging, presence engineering, original content and online programs augmented with a healthy dose of SEO.” Sailing the 14 Social C’s is a useful article from their site about optimizing social media.

Another great idea from a university graduate

Remember our last post from a few days ago about a clever Slovakian guy who attracted the attention of well known companies in an extraordinary way?

Here is another student, Zack Borst, who decided to take part in Chevrolet’s Route66 competition and won with his own video “Happy Grad.” This commercial will appear as a Super Bowl advertisement in 2012. Take a look at it to get some inspiration of how to attract your future employers. Do you think other companies will follow suit and encourage fans to create their advertisements for them?
